O-rings inside each cap seal it airtight and waterproof as soon as you close it. Aluminium doesn't absorb odours like plastic does, so smells stay inside.
Does it protect contents from light?
Yes. The aluminium walls are fully opaque and block UV light, so contents stay fresher for longer.
Will it keep contents fresh?
Yes. The airtight seal keeps air out, so herbs, spices, coffee and tea hold on to their aroma for longer. For best results, store it somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight.
How do I clean it, and is it dishwasher safe?
By hand. Unscrew both caps, remove the O-rings and wash everything in warm soapy water. Dry each part fully before putting it back together. It isn't dishwasher safe.
How do I fit the seals, and are spares included?
Yes, two spare O-rings come in the box. To fit one, seat it evenly in the groove inside the cap before screwing the cap on. It should sit flat all the way round, which is what gives you a fully airtight seal.
